Morning guys,

Spent the morning of Sat with Simon at Mega4 here in surrey (UK) Chipping my Fast up, the Stats look good,
Currently puishing out 265BHP and 317 FTLbs :eek: ;D of torque (running Shell optimax 98Ron).

For those of you who don't know the standard GTi's its 200 BHP and 223FTLbs of torque.

Thats a massive difference nearly 100 FTLbs more pull ;D.
I'm very pleased i removed the Blow off valve as after the chip you can now really hear the turbo wind up and dump much better now. He's Invited me back for the "stage 2" Chip after i get a replacemnet for my current Exhaust (waiting for it from Germany) and a Turbo-Back setup. :D

Will keep you all informed but seriously - Revo is by far the best chip you can get for this car.

Sounds like the way to go if that is the case. I should be able to download the software from iFast and upload it via the diagnostic port with vagcom. Oh to dream...

That are some pretty impressive numbers for just a chip and an intake. I'm going to get my GTI chipped by Revo also.

its very simple there are 4 suction cups holding the engine cover on. Gentle pull the cover up from the corner and you should pop a suction cup out do it for the other 3. Be careful by the oil cap you dont want to break the cap.

Yep just intake and the chip they have astage 2 as i said that can be done after a full exhaust and intake job. the engine cover can be removed by lifting it from the front left corner then front right, rear.. etc till it pops off- TBH i like seeing the engine with some polish under there to get it all shiney i think it looks great. I will maybe get a new cover if they bring one out but that depends on the cost- who see's under the bonnet that often any way.

as for Grip boy .... the car pulls to the left (a fair bit) when you flaw it but what a difference i had the BIGGEST grin on my face.
Alot of people watch as i fly by to or accelerate off with combination of intake and the turbo winding up it's plure pleasure to hear!

I'm runnin on some Continental Sport 225 40 r18's but guys at Mega4 suggested the Mich's as they have a new tread layout that improves grip they are pilot 2's (new version just out) and a resonable ?143 from the garage they suggested (thats EACH) by the way.

Wheel spin = Yes and its really easy too car actually wheel s spins if i drop the cluthc in 1st 2nd and 3rd...

if you havn't got it. GET IT!

Hey, well guys here where discussing they they do somthing like 90MPH at 5000RPM's i was like oh.. hmm see what i can do mines 130 at 5000 RPM.... in reality your not going to do much more than the cars top end states as that top speed (146 mph ?) :) is what VW have worked out by math as the fastest the car can go with its gearing ::)

to go any faster i think you'd have to look at changing the gear ratio's and making 6th longer than it is. i for 1 have always thought 1st gear has a very low ratio i think they made it too short and with the extra horses + torque it's almost a pointless gear for me now ;D

most i've done in my GTi is 135 and to be honest i dont think id want to go any faster on public roads i like my liecence and its just not cricket to go racing putting other peoples lifes at risk cause u wanna see what your car tops out at.

I'm thinking of taking her to germany for the weekend (Nurberg ring) and seeing what she can do round the track there ;) much better idea!

I dearly enjoy reading things like "265 hp" and "nearly 300lbs torque", but what kind of difference does the chip make to gas milage? I'd love to change my Fast to a Blistering Fast, but not if it's going to mean a big dip in average mpg. For the record I'm currently averaging 21mpg, all city driving.
