Of course I am trying to keep the new car smell as long as possible, but a smoker must face facts eventually. Any advice on where to get an ash tray? Maybe on that matches the ride? Just got my Black 2k7 MKV tinted, and I'll post pics once I'm done with the custom paint job... Let me just say it's good to be a part of the community. My Friends in Baltimore were always obsessed, and now I see why.

my friend has an ash tray that is shaped like a travel coffee mug and fits in his cup holder. That might be something to look for...

This is a free country and you paid for or are paying for the car. You have a right to smoke in it. If they aren't breathing your second hand smoke, tell them to kiss your ass!

There is a website called "Little Brown Smoke Shop" They have pocket ash trays.

SMITE THIS!

I would think dipping would smell worse. I've been smoking the past 14 years (just over half my life) and wouldn't want a car I coulsd not smoke in... of course in the 6 weeks I've had the car I've smoked maybe 4 cigarettes inside whihc I think is amazing! To those non-haters, thanks for the heads-up. What would my fast be if not the coolest extension of me?!? >:D

I work for Jeep and stole a smokers kit out of one of the jeep cherokees , it's a small cup with a lid on it and fts in any standard cup holder. If you can't find one through VW try a Jeep store. It works good.
I only got it because it's too damn cold to keep the window open to flick the ashes and I hate ashes flying back into the car.

I wasn't gonna smoke in my car either but it lasted about 6 hours before I lit one up in it. The trick is to never leave old butts in the car, that's what causes most of the smell.

Alright, this is for anyone who read this but was too scared to profess to smoking... then I think this thread should find it's way down the list. Saw a few and haven't decided (red mood lighting would look so hot to match my color scheme) but u can check these links. I originally assumed there might be a VW (maybe even GTI) specific ashtray... I mean I believe everyone in Europe still smokes! Safe -A

I'm not afraid to admit that I smoke. I just haven't had my GTI long enough to start smoking in it yet. Driving to Albuquerque in a few weeks; that'll be my first long drive, and the first real test of my resolve to not smoke in the car. Trips from South Dakota to Michigan or Colorado have broken in my last three cars.

I smoke sometimes but I'd never do it in my GTI (when I get one)
