The ultimate chip upgrade for the GTI 2.0T FSI engine is available from APR. After months of long nights and many hours of dyno work we are pleased to offer you chip tuning that is second to none. We have worked hand in hand with many customers to deliver a chip that works. Expect huge increases in low-end torque, improved throttle response and a smoother, more powerful top end.

Stage I ECU Upgrade

Not only does our Stage I software give you higher peak numbers of 252 horsepower and 303lb-ft. of torque, but also gains of up to 61 horsepower are available at lower rpms! This software is the ultimate upgrade for the new GTI and gives it just the extra edge these cars lack from the factory, without pushing the limits. \

No boostcontrollers needed, no intakes needed, it does it all... and for $600?? Sounds like a done deal to me, what do you think?

I found out that in order to get the chip you have to go to an APR dealer near you and they will put it in for you. ON the site it says you can mail your chip from your car to them and the same day they will send you theres. The installion directions are on the site i reed them and it doesn't sound to hard. But after you put the chip in dont start the car just turn the car so the electronics turn on and let it sit for about 3 min so the comp gets use to the new info then its all fun from there.

I have the APR chip installed and what a difference it makes. I can't think of anything you could do that would result in the HP & torque increases that you get. It is awesome. The real surprise for me is the that I am getting better mileage on my 72 mile daily commute. That is a blessing I wasn't counting on.

The only negative so far is the torque steer but that isn't APR's issue. ...you do get used to it but in the first few hard accelerations it was a little disconcerting. Now I am used to it. APR claims 60+ hp at the low end of the rev's and I beleive it. The off the line power is incredible.

I like the flip-switch technology and the lock-out. The APR dealers seem to be a cut above the wan-a-bes out there!

REVO puts out best numbers but will destroy yer engine. i was told at 60k miles with the REVO chip the engine will be demolished.
Ya i was told the same thing. so it kind of brakes down like this.
Revo- the best numbers (but will kill the car in the long run, i think it is more for the race guys)
GIAC- second best numbers and they kick up the boost to around 20lbs (Nice chip but you need the dongle thing to change stuff)
APR- third best it takes the boost up to 18LBS. ( I think this is the best for most of us due to the fact that if you dont race then you dont need 10 more HP at the cost of your car blowing up at 60k.)

And i know for a FACT that it is hard for the dealer to find. I just got my 10k stuff done and the dealer was looking for it. My buddy that works there told me that they can find it if they look real hard but there is all kind of stuff they have to do and it takes hours. So in the long run i would say that if you want to add some fun to your every day car then go with GIAC or APR. if you want to be a race car then go with REVO.

I am in Odenton Maryland so if you want to drive a APR tuned car hit me up on the PM or if you want to try out GIAC let me know and i think i can hook you up with a friend.

later

P.s sorry about the bad spelling.

I am beginning to wonder if everyone out there beleives the advertisers numbers. When it comes right down to it performance and the dealers reputation is at stake and the folks installing APR are heads and shoulders above the rest. As for performance the hell with the speculation that is going on here. APR rocks and at the same time does so by being responsible about what they do to get the perfomance.

Performance at the expense of reliabilty is irresponsible!

If you can afford 15 minites of fame buy by the numbers. I will laugh as I pass you by.

Just because you gathered facts at the different sites does that mean it is correct? How gullible are you?

Do your research by searching out dealers, taking drives, and talking to other people who have installed the option. Look at the history of these folks.

im going to be installing the APR chip next spring just got my candy white about 4 months ago... really considering if its worth it.. even though apr is supposed to last longer and i know it does then the REVO i still have doubts over long term lasting fo the turbo or engine..
60k or 100k ur engine still goes??? dno if thats worth it really.. still gna ge it though lol... maybe ill just get exhaust or intake istead but power gains are phenomenal with the chip so YEE CHIP! :)

I see it this way... if I chip it now then in a couple of years when I have more money and want to buy a bigger and better car I'll get less resale value out of the GTI. Sooo... leaving it unchipped and saving up for an Audi, or maybe a Porsche.

I'm planning on getting mine chipped in the spring. I'm pretty set on APR. I think their reputation in the tuning industry is excellent. I don't rag on my Fast so I don't think that the chip is going to affect the longevity of his existence. I just like to have that little extra on tap for when I need it.

tuning definitely does screw you for resale value. i was browsing craigslist and i saw an 06 mkv with apr stage 2 going for 18 grand, and it only had 7000 miles on it. if the guy hadnt had that done to the car, he wouldve been able to sell it for at least 21, if not more.
