Is it a TSI or FSI? If 2009, I’m assuming TSI. The TSI has a timing chain, not a belt and I’d be skeptical of it “going bad”. Your tensioner might be loose, but if your chain broke, you would have catastrophic engine damage. As far as the DSG, when something goes wrong, you pretty much have to replace the whole thing. That quote actually sounds reasonable for all that work, but I’m not sure you need it all. Even still, the Water pump, intake manifold, timing chain tensioner and DSG are all extended warranty items for specific VINs. If you’re under 120k miles, it should all be covered. I would push back hard on this. Do some research on those recalls. The timing chain tensioner hasn’t been settled yet, but it should be soon.

I don’t know why they’re threatening to void your warranty when they’re not honoring any warranty work on known failing parts already. I would take it somewhere else and just get the flush for now. I think Carfax gives a list of known recalls by vin.
