Re: All sold out... (but not really)
Well, I don't know what is up with my local VW dealer. He stated there were none available even before making colour/package choices. Well, a little looking online and I found a great BRAND NEW '07 just one province over (Alberta) at another VW Dealer.
It is actually different then the one I ordered, but I actually like it just a bit better, well actually alot better when you factor in that 4 month waiting period. It's white and has the 17" rims, but I was going to buy new ones anyways and the white matches my current Integra.
So, all said and done, it only cost me an extra 600 to get shipped. But I saved 900 not getting the 18" rims.
And now I will soon have my car

So I goto the local VW dealership today to see about getting my deposit back and the dealer says he will go figure it out. So I'm standing around for a good 15-20min and he comes out and we talk a bit more. I mention to him, like I had said the other day, the colour did not matter as long as it was not red or silver. This seemed like it caught him by surprise and I told him again that It just had to have the DSG & Leather. So, he now says that he should be able to get one for me and asked if he could have 24 Hours to try and get it. I said ok as I have only given a depost at the other dealership and not signed any papers. He also said they would cover the deposit and I would not be charged the $600 shipping it would have cost to get the one the province over.
So, I'm actually hoping the local dealer comes through as that means much less hassle for me. We'll see and hopfully I'll have more info tomorrow or by email tonight.

It's monday now, spoke with the dealer again... They have found me a brand new Black '07 VW GTI 2.0T and I should have it sometime this week! Woo woo!
It's not the united grey I started with, or the white I last thought I was getting, but I do really like the look black, especially with that bit of red trim in front

It's been a struggle, but it will be worth it I believe
I've always wanted a Golf/GTI since I was in high school. Something about the car really appeals to me. (I love HB's)
I've had a couple friends give me a bit of a weird look when I tell them the cost all said and done and the specs of the vehicle. Always those people out there who are like, 'You could have got car X for $Y! and it has Z horsepower!'... then I have to explain, thats not the damn car I want!
But back to waiting.. hope its early this week like the guy made it out to be

Exactly GranTurismoInjection... I can save the Pure Luxury or Insane Sport car for my next vehicle I like the balance with the VW.
Whoot! Dealership called today, getting the financial stuff done then the car is mine! Now I just need Future Shop to repair my camera and give it back so I can take photos

all good though, waaay to many cops out tonight. Got pulled over being driven to the bank in friends car for no reason, cop said something about, 'routine inspection'... odd...

I got my GTI tonight!!!
All I can say is WOW! Versus what I'm used to driving this thing sure has some kick. I didn't do too much driving tonight, but I can't wait for tomorrow when its light out. Gotta be good though and break the engine in proper. ;D
I sure do love the black and the leather heated seats are great too! It ended up having the 18" wheels which also, again, just look awesome
Anyways, maybe I'll be less biased in some future posts. Until then I only know the word awesome to describe this car.
