According to an auto shop that specializes in fixing VW cars, my car radiator sensor is not working correctly and to fix the issue, the entire radiator unit needs to be replaced. I was told that the sensor is built into the radiator and that the only way to fix the issue is to replace the radiator; needless to say, the cost to replace the radiator is very high ~ $1400 USD.
Can anyone advise me with how I should go about addressing this problem? Is the sensor something that can be replaced without having to replace the entire radiator? Lastly, my check engine light has come on and possibly with a code related to the radiator sensor.
Thank you.
