I didnt do the paint my self ofcourse but the way he did it was first sand everything make it nice and smooth, prime it then find the best match possible. I left the half oval part on the back where the exaust is. I didnt want to paint the whole black silver.
You can kinda see it here at the bottom. Sorry for the low res pic i took it with my cell phone.
But you can see what difference a small paint job can make to the car. I honestly did not recognize my own car. When i saw it i said to my self oh look that VW kinda look slike mine but nicer.
And the guy who painted it did such a good job. The bumpers are so smooth like the rest of the car and the color match is perfect.
If you are wondering how much it cost me... well my 1st estimate was $1000 so i said no way. Then i got rear ended twice on the same street withing 30 min of each other, in bottom and top bumpers. Stupid people just cant drive in snow. So i went to the guy and said to him while you are taking the bumpers down anways how much top paint them silver and also do the front and sides. He said $450 and i said hell yeah ;D
