I read somewhere that the '07 will be one year newer than the '06.

I don't have a link, but if I find one, I'll post it.
Dude... no way... you sure?

Lemme think about this one...

The... 2007.. GTI would be... a.. I'm trying hard on this one.. a whole year newer than a 2006?

SHAZAYUM!

That year must've allowed it to increase the horsepower by about 500, eh? And the torque is now about 617 lb-ft :eek:, right?

That's... amazing...

O0 :p ::)

What's the latest on them bringing back the R32's for 07? Is it happening or what?

I read the article in C & D about it and that's what made me go test drive the GTI's, I decided I couldn't wait for them to decide and bought one a week later.

Like the old VW Golf R32, this new version has 4Motion all-wheel drive. The 3.2-liter V-6 in the R32 makes 247 hp and is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a DSG dual-clutch manu-matic. VW claims a top speed of 155 mph, and a 0-to-62-mph time of 6.5 seconds for the manual and 6.2 seconds for the DSG-equipped car. The car looks the part, with eighteen-inch wheels and tires and a subtle body kit, while the interior gets aggressive sport seats and aluminum-faced pedals. If this model makes it here, it will arrive in 2007 as an '08 model. It will likely be badged R36--thanks to the new 3.6-liter V-6 from the Passat--and have between 280 and 300 hp. Since VW sold 5000 of the previous generation R32s with little or no marketing effort, the company is keen to bring the updated version to the U.S. in 2007 as an '08 model.

I'm sorry, I wasn't being serious. Just playin' around. =P

Anyway, the R32/R36 is sexay, and the blue is absolutely gorgeous. When I graduate from my MkV I'm definitely gonna be considering the R36 as my next car. Depends of course on money and what it's competitors are in '08. I believe that the blue colour on the .:R is a staple colour, and is supposed to be available only on the .:R series. I could be mistaken, though.

Getting back to the '07 discussion, my GTI (Canadian version) is an '07. At least on paper. It was manufactured in early '06, so maybe that makes it an '07. I think everyone else here has late '05 as their production dates.
