How labor intensive? How much am I gonna be cursing at myself for tearing into it? It is just an oem replacement not aftermarket mod.
I had a failed cam follower eat away the HPFP shaft and scour the cam lobe ('06 FSI BPY),
paid to have the B cam replaced with same in 2010 at 110,000 miles, did cam belt at same time,
cost me $1,400 at a local shop including parts. Dealer wanted $2,100.
About 12 hours of labor and according to Bentley shop manual
multiple special tools to hold things in place while you re-assemble.
At the time I researched the tool cost at around $350.
Shot pics of the damaged HPFP cam lobe ... click picture for hi-res version

New cam has been trouble free for 115,000 mi now,
on my fourth cam follower on the new cam (not gonna let that happen again).
